Pine Lake Cabin

Pine Lake Cabin

Opportunity:
The owners of this 1920 cabin wanted to get rid of the cobbled ‚ improvements‚ made over the years to the original cabin. Inexpensive convenience had become impractical and unattractive.

Response:
Our design seamlessly melds new additions with the original structure, at the same time improving daylighting throughout the cabin. Dappled morning light reflected from the lake now plays on the ceiling of the screen porch. In addition to the main cabin, we remodeled the ‚upstairs‚ cabin which is a small guest cabin, designed a studio and a boathouse for the lake property. The overall plan for the property connects the new buildings with a path that provides viewpoints and leads to a log gazebo in the orchard.
