St Croix River Retreat
Rather than the usual need to add on, our compact approach here was to shrink this awkwardly large house into a cabin. The far end of the (too) great room was transformed into a screen porch creating the best summer room in the house.
We were successful in eliminating the 1960’s suburban parts and indulging the more rustic cabin aspects. The result is a restored connection to the river and a house with the charm of a country retreat.
