Have you ever wondered why homeowners hire an architect to design their home? Now’s the time to find out on the 2015 Homes by Architects Tour! This weekend-long event is a wonderful opportunity to experience twenty new and remodeled Minnesotan homes throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Our Wayzata retreat is Home #3 on this year’s tour. Designed to work for quiet evenings of just two and for large gatherings, both levels of this modern lake house open up to a private view of Gleason Lake. The home’s restrained palette of bluestone, dark steel, and cedar extend the naturalness of the site to the interior, pulling on Japanese philosophies of nature and balance. Members of the design team will be present during the tour to answer questions about the house, gardens, and the design process.
